Hello, I’m Dr. Dorothy Kitchen, the founder of Compassionate Crossings Vet.

As a veterinarian who has lived with dogs and cats my entire life, I deeply cherish the human-animal bond. This has led me to focus my career on palliative and end-of-life care, helping families ensure their senior pets are comfortable and honoured in their golden years. With this in mind, I created Compassionate Crossings Vet  to provide peaceful and respectful in-home euthanasia services for families in the Ottawa area.

I graduated from the University of Guelph in 2002 and have over two decades of experience working in the Ottawa region. My background includes specialized training in rehabilitation and previous work providing in-home end of life care with Claire Place Veterinary Hospice.

In addition to my work with Compassionate Crossings Vet, I am also a part of the team at Grenville Dundas Veterinary Clinic. This allows me to support families and their beloved pets through all stages of life, from their first vaccinations to their final goodbyes.

In my personal time, I enjoy gardening, paddling on the Rideau and spending time with my two senior yellow labs.
